“Providing Real Hope for the Neighborhood”
Events
ACC, with its
Vision Appalachia partners, sponsors and hosts several training
sessions, special events, and mission projects during the course of a
year. ACC will also custom design a mission trip specifically
for your group.
Here are the
events that routinely occur:
Targeting
Hope
This annual two-day conference attracts community leaders from around
the nation and other countries. Begun
in 2002 as a means of sharing information with community leaders, the
conference hosts two education tracts – one for pastors and Christian
leaders and one addressing community development.
National and international level speakers travel to Chestnut
Ridge every year to share a wealth of experience in how to build
communities from the inside out, using available assets.
The next Targeting Hope Conference will be held in May 2006.
Making
a Difference Together Celebration
This annual event honors the volunteers that help us carry on our work.
Vision Appalachia manages nearly
100,000 volunteer hours every year.
What a
difference our volunteers make!!
Mountain
Harvest
This
annual fundraising event helps financially support our various
ministries. Held every November, Mountain Harvest also provides a
launching point for year-end giving. This four-star event is hosted by
all Vision Appalachia partners and served by local youth. Guests
receive the royal treatment along with a briefing on every part of our
ministry.
Mission
Projects
In 2005, ACC helped support its partners, World Vision and World Servants,
in hosting over 1,500 mission workers from all over the U.S. ACC
also hosts work teams to our communities in the spring and fall. Your
team may come for one overnight and a day of work, or we'll craft a
custom trip for you. For additional information about these
projects, contact Barbara Satterfield at 304-457-5323 ext. 21.
