“Providing
Real Hope for the Neighborhood”
Appalachian Community CARE has been involved
with ministry to under-resourced communities since 1990.
Originally formed to take on the task of tutoring the academically
challenged students of Chestnut Ridge, ACC responsibilities have
expanded over the years to include a variety of programs focused on
bringing hope to communities throughout north-central West
Virginia.
With community leadership teams, we operate community centers located on
Chestnut Ridge, Brownton and Flemington. Central Station in
Doddridge County is also part of our network. Community programs
provide a broad list of learning and social activities for children and
families.
We also focus on helping communities plan for and achieve success, by
providing leadership training and mentoring. Since 2003, ACC has
been involved in vocational training which targets young men and women
who are searching for direction for their lives. An adjunct of
that work is our Read to Succeed Adult Literacy Program.
ACC is a proud partner with World Vision and World Servants in the
holistic ministry known as Vision Appalachia based in Barbour County and
operating throughout West Virginia and surrounding states.
